Hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, this year for Mental Health Awareness Week (14-20 May), we’re focusing on stress. Research has shown that two thirds of us experience a mental health problem in our lifetimes, and stress is a key factor in this.
We all know what it’s like to feel stressed – it’s part of everyday life. But when you’re overwhelmed by stress it may lead to mental health problems or make existing problems worse.
Mental Health Awareness Week 2018 is a great time to think about how we can all address the causes stress and what we can do to when we are feeling it.
At Harmless we really advocate self care for and if you are feeling stressed its most definitely time to up it. We encourage self care every day, not only to our clients but to our delegates and our team. We understand the importance of self care…and after all, thriving starts with self care.
“Self care includes any intentional actions you take to care for your physical, mental and emotional health”.
Benefits of self care:
– Reduces stress levels.
– Increased resilience.
– Increases positive thinking.
– More effective in supporting others.
– Our mental health affects our physical health, self care supports both.
– More energy and motivation.
So this MHAW lets really take some time to put you first. Spend each day doing something extra for you, something you love, and you will reap the benefits.
