I spoke today at the National Suicide Prevention Alliance conference #NSPAConf held at the Oval in London.
Amongst speakers were MP Alistair Blurt, Hamish Elvidge, Johnny Benjamin & Professor Louis Appleby who was presenting the most up to date suicide statistics.
In the afternoon I presented a workshop about the work of the Tomorrow Project by the title ‘exploring the geographic and demographic sensitivities of delivering a suicide prevention imitative’ alongside Outlook SW who were speaking about the differences of working in Cornwall.
A team of colleagues attended with me today to show support for the NSPA for which I am an elected steering group member and a member of today’s conference committee but both Harmless and the Tomorrow Project are member organisations. We hosted two information stands and had a lot of interest in our work, which is always great.
We hope to be significantly involved in the successful future of suicide prevention work in the UK as we move forwards.
